Availability of nutrients and potentially toxic elements in hyssop plants grown in sandy soil with mineral and organic fertilization Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Gonçalves Jr., Affonso Celso; Carvalho, Endrigo Antônio de; Coelho, Gustavo Ferreira; Schwantes, Daniel; Nacke, Herbert; Moraes, Alice Jacobus de.
The technologies developed for agricultural production in recent years have faced constant pressure between the increase of production with a sustainable development. Co-products such as swine waste are generally used for soils fertilization. The use of this waste has presented great acceptance by farmers, being used mainly in crops and pastures. However, the inappropriate use of those wastes, results in toxicity for the plant. Nowadays, the scientific study with medicinal plants present itself in constant growth, once that the population demonstrates a tendency for natural or herbal treatments. Consequently, the market for medicinal plants tends to improve their production technologies, looking for higher productions, with high quality and sustainability....

Generation of waste from swine in the western Region of Parana: a case of unsustainability Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Hack, Elaine Cristina; Saturnino, Patrícia Moretti Franco da Cruz; Meinerz, Cristiane Claudia; Nacke, Herbert; Assi, Lindomar; Gonçalves Jr., Affonso Celso.
In Parana (Brazil), pork production has been present since the beginning of colonization of the state, especially in the West, where it was just a subsistence activity for families and subsequently has become a source of family income. In the microregion of Entre Rios do Oeste, the main economic activity is agriculture, with a concentration on the production of 916.66 swines/km2 , but  an increase of over 50% in the activity is estimated for 2012. However, like any other human activities, hog interacts with the environment, which creates great concerns from the environmental point of view, because this is one of the agricultural activities with the largest polluting potential due to the volume of waste produced and its composition. With high concentrations...

Phytoavailability of heavy metals and production of tifton 85 cultivated with different sources and doses of zinc Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Gonçalves Junior, Affonso Celso; Nacke, Herbert; Lambert, Diego Rodrigo; Wachholz, Lucas; Schwantes, Daniel; Casarin, Juliana; Mesquita, Eduardo Eustáquio.
The element zinc (Zn) is considered an essential micronutrient to plants, being that the addition of this metal in forage cultivation may cause increment in the productivity. In Brazilian soils are frequent the cases of Zn deficiency, being necessary the fertilization of these areas with this micronutrient. However it must be highlighted that some sources of this micronutrient available in the market present in its composition heavy metals. This work aimed to study the effect of different sources and doses of Zn applied in Tifton 85 and the production of dry matter and the levels of Zn, phosphorus (P), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and chromium (Cr) in leaf tissue and the levels Zn, Cd, Pb and Cr in soil. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using a...
